🚗 Honey, our car is shrinking

A few years ago, with a baby, my wife and I were always going on road trips. Most people find travelling with babies a nightmare, but not us. As long as we are in our compact SUV, we are good. We can feed, change and play with our baby in the car, between stops. There was enough cargo space for everything we could need, and our baby was kind enough to enjoy his nap in the car seat.
Honey, our car is shrinking
Over the last Christmas, now with two kids, I realized our car is shrinking. A baby car seat and a booster seat leave no room left at the second row of a compact SUV. That meant my visiting mother-in-law was always sandwiched every time we went out. The worst thing is that there’s no longer space to change or feed our baby in the car, and we can’t use the trunk because it’s winter.
I know you are probably thinking your car is not shrinking, you are outgrowing it. But who’s to say who is right?
For now, I just have to start saving towards a 3-row SUV. Any recommendation?
🤔🤔🤔
I wonder how my parents fit so many kids into a mid-sized sedan. To be fair, back then, they didn’t have to deal with car seats the size of armchairs.
Or maybe it’s just one of those struggles our parents went through and we were just too young to notice/appreciate it.

How can I keep my kids engaged during the winter months? I have 2 kids (3yr and 5 yr). I don’t like the cold, so indoor activities are preferred. Thanks in advance.
